There is definitely a cold nip in the air now. The leaves are turning colors. And it is almost time to feed the dragon. The dogs are staying inside more – mind you, it is pouring rain as well.
The smoke has dissipated – thank doG! It was rough for a while there. But nature take scare of us very well and the rains have come in full force. Me and my air bud have come to terms and we ar edoing well. I can get around much better with the backpack. And finally – I am losing a bit of weight. How cool is that.
I do have another deep worry – TG has been chosen for an audit. You may remember that paperwork is my bane so I am stressed to the max right now. So much so that I can barely sleep so my doctor has prescribed sleep aids last month. I finally started taking them and hopefully the worry will settle to a dull roar as I work on my ledgers/receipts etc. TG has been working for 22 years and as a charity since 1997 – it was inevitable that we would be chosen one day. But to send two people to Topley? I would prefer to see that money spent on useful stuff like a low cost spay neuter program instead. There is very little common sense these days.
New arrivals – a litter of shepherd/sharpei puppies? maybe some are black and white like karelians and some are tan. 5 girls and 2 boys. I had so hoped that we had all the sharpei mixes from Moricetown but these come from the Hazelton area. It never ends. And a littlest hobo type shepherd – Princess Hobo- very pregnant – too late to spay we think. Sometimes rescue really sucks.
Ruthie has come back – she is terrified of atvs!! She shakes terribly when she hears one. And horses. She lunged at the warmblood horses. She was trying to protect her new guardian. Ruth came back again – she has settled in so very well. She is lying at my feet in the atco. She is calm and well behaved. Her trial did her a lot of good. She needs a quiet home in the city preferably with no atvs and horses. She is a loving girl who needs a firm but kind leader to help her feel safe in all situations. Ruthie will find her furever home somewhere.
Lizzie arrived last night and has re-integrated very well. She flew in on Hawkair with another fellow – Cody a border collie in need. Dave and Bear met them at 8 pm in Smithers and drove home in a severe rainstorm. They got in after 10 pm!! Lizzie was easy as she remembered Dave right away – she was from his bed crew. Cody was brought in – in his crate to the common room. Once the crew had sniffed him over the door was opened and he finally came out to have a drink. He is quite dog social – he went to doggie day care a lot. He has come to me to be petted and is now resting after his ordeal. Flying is hard on them. He is a very handsome dude.
please keep voting in the PEPSI Refreshes Everything Challenge – we are #6!! How cool is that!!
